Peacebuilders Camp at Koinonia Farm

Fun, Peace, & Justice

An overnight camp & exploration of Human Rights, Diversity, & Friendship

Dear Peacebuilders Family,

We hope your family and loved ones are doing well at this time. We wanted to let you all know about what Peacebuilders Camp will look like this summer.

After multiple board meetings and scenario planning, we have decided to cancel Sessions 1 and 2. We will be going forward with our Session 3 group online. This was a hard decision to make and we will deeply miss spending the week with our incredible campers this summer, but the health and safety of our campers is our priority. This is a unique climate and we look forward to thinking and creating different ways we can continue to build Peacebuilders Camp.

A message from Marilyn, co-founder and curriculum director:

It is certainly disappointing that our tenth summer of camp at Koinonia Farm won’t be happening as planned, but we are committed to our mission of providing exceptional human rights education to young people. We are so grateful for the support we’ve received over the years, and invite you to continue to partner with us in our work, even as we have to adjust our methods.”

Stay tuned for news and inspiration from our wonderful community of peacemakers!

Peacebuilders Camp at Koinonia Farm is a unique overnight summer camp in rural south Georgia where youth ages 11 to 16 spend a week together learning how to work toward peace and justice.

Come meet new friends from diverse backgrounds, go on field trips, learn about human rights, make a difference for others through service projects, enjoy games and sports, and explore the stories of peacemakers past and present.

A Sliding-Scale Camp

Peacebuilders Camp at Koinonia Farm partners with the community to build a movement of peacebuilders.  In this spirit of partnership, we work to make camp financially possible for everyone and ask our campers’ families to partner with us in our mission.

We use a sliding-scale tuition system that asks families to pay what they are able. The full cost of one camper is $1,382.81, but our subsidized suggested full-tuition amount is $1,000.

We strive to make up any difference between your family’s contribution and the actual cost of Peacebuilders Camp with fundraising, and we encourage campers and their families to join us in the fundraising effort as they are able. It is our goal that no camper be turned away for financial reasons.

"Long story short, presenting at Peacebuilders Camp was a true highlight of my summer and in the process of teaching the campers about the effect they can have on society, I learned a number of valuable lessons myself.”
